We have the power to persevere. Its just a matter of making up our minds to do so. It may be helpful to remember that people don’t succeed because they are destined to; they succeed because they are determined to. When you come to bumps in the road and feel doubtful, say to yourself, Cowards despair, but I persevere!
I write about this because I have many questions asked upon me in regards to my 70lb weight loss
However; this post may be related to any area in your life.
So they ask; Michelle how did you do it? What is your magic formula? How long did it take? You are so lucky (luck NEVER has anything to do with success!).
Allow me to share:
-
To have; we must first BE. When I chose my healthy lifestyle journey I really put myself there as if I am already a healthy fit person and lived my life everyday with that mind set. You could write it in your journal about how grateful you are to have the body you have now, and how healthy you are. Live as though you have it NOW!
-
Find a Buddy a mentor a trainer; someone that has the same goals as you. I did! As a matter of fact I surrounded myself with like minded people on the subject of health and fitness! My conversations were about the subject thus keeping my goals in my conscious mind and as a result my subconscious mind is now on autopilot (a way of life, a new habit). Remeber, what we think about all day long we become
-
Create a plan that works for you; what types of workouts do you like, do you want to follow a diet plan or create your own? On my journey I learned it is about our metabolism and this worked wonders for me. I believe in the method of clean eating 5x a day, keeping my diet as alkaline as I can and workouts that will engage my metabolic rate. Also I gave myself permission to have a cheat day or meal during the week (I LOVE chocolate !)
-
Create a reason to change your lifestyle; I will share with my clients to write down the reason as to why they wish the change, as it won’t be about weight loss. For me it is about playing on the farm we will have, with the horses, organic chickens, organic plants and for sure playing with my grandchildren with ease and grace
(no rush kids LOL). I will be travelling the world and I choose to be healthy and fit to do so, as I will also be taking on new adventures. This keeps the passion alive! -
Celebrate!; at every turn in your new lifestyle change, inch loss, weight loss, running that extra lap without stopping, increasing your weights, whatever that looks like for you, just celebrate. I would celebrate with my good friend and workout partner with a good high five and a wooohoo!!! She would celebrate along with me and that feels great in itself

Last but not least Perseverance! Yup a word that will make you or break you (if you choose) :). When I started 18months ago I just started and created a new lifestyle with no fret on when I will lose weight, I just played the game of a healthy lifestyle and the weight came off nice and healthy approx. 1lb per week. (This style is healthy for your metabolism). So my goal was a lifestyle change NOT a weight loss, again what is your focus? If you focus on “I have to lose weight” “I’m fat” or I’m unhealthy” THESE statements can bring you down! Use statements that will bring you into a positive mind set on your journey. The time will just be and there will be no rush, no high expectations, just a healthy body being born again. YES I did have my moments, let’s be honest, but I persevered and recommitted to my journey WITHOUT GUILT! Remember I do love chocolate haha.

I’m now training to be a personal trainer
I see this as a way to share with others that it is a journey into their health and life. My training will also ensue me to take a holistic nutrition course for athletes and a Transformational life coach course.
So that is the formula from Me to you! May you find your formula for your journey no matter what that is, JUST persevere
If you need some mentoring just post and I will be sure to get back to you, I will always believe in you!
Love you, your Beautiful,
Michelle

[...] Increase your walking to 30 min. per day, now look into adding a form of resistance training 3x week. Start light (if you are new) again there are many sites and personal trainers out there that can assist you in creating a plan to fit your lifestyle and fitness goals, however I highly recommend weights to be added to your fitness no matter what age or fitness level you are at. There are fitness competitors that are in their 70’s!! Find a routine that inspires you and keeps you motivated, this is important to keep you coming back for more. Remember; there is a start in this process again keep a fitness journal and record your progress, you will be amazed if you stay motivated at how fast your beautiful body will transform Remember it’s all about Perseverance.
